Let’s Talk About Your Garden

Every garden project starts with a conversation.

Whether you are planning a completely new garden, looking to redesign an existing space, need help with planting, or would simply value some experienced advice before deciding what to do next, I’d be very happy to hear from you.

You can get in touch by phone or email, or use the enquiry form below to tell me a little about your garden and what you would like help with.

Where I Work

I am based in Northumberland and work throughout the surrounding area and the Scottish Borders.

I am also happy to discuss projects further afield where the location and scope of work are suitable.

Begin Your Garden Transformation

Tell me a little about your garden, what you would like to change and any ideas you already have.

Every project starts with understanding the site, how you use it and what you would like the garden to become. Complete the enquiry form below and I’ll be in touch to arrange an initial conversation.

How It Starts

Projects usually begin with an initial conversation, followed by a site visit where appropriate.

This gives us the opportunity to discuss:

  • what you would like to change

  • how you currently use the garden

  • how you would like to use it in the future

  • the character and history of the site

  • existing planting and features

  • access, practical requirements and budget

  • the level of design or project management support you may need

From there, I can recommend the most appropriate next step.

Consultancy

Not every garden needs a full redesign.

I also offer garden consultancy for clients looking for focused advice on areas such as planting, garden development, specialist environments or longer-term garden management.

Consultations can be carried out on site, by telephone or online, depending on the project.

Current consultancy rate: £55 per hour, plus travel where applicable.

About Clare

My route into garden design has been shaped by a lifelong curiosity about the natural world.

From growing up in East Yorkshire to travelling through Cornwall and New Zealand, studying Marine Biology and Land Management, and eventually settling in Northumberland, landscape, nature and photography have always been part of how I see the world.

For more than twenty-five years I have designed, restored and managed gardens, working closely with clients and trusted local contractors to create spaces that respond naturally to their setting.

My own garden in the Cheviot Hills is my sketchbook — a place to experiment, learn and gather inspiration for the gardens I create for others.

A garden does not have to begin with a fully formed plan.

Sometimes the first step is simply talking through the possibilities.

Get in touch and we can start there.
