The key to a successful design is the ability to interpret a client's ideas and bring them to life.

Introduction

Garden design is about much more than choosing plants. It is about understanding a place, the people who will use it and creating spaces that feel as though they have always belonged there.

For over twenty-five years I have designed, restored and managed gardens throughout Northumberland and the Borders, working on everything from intimate courtyard gardens to large private estates and contemporary coastal landscapes.

Garden Design

Every garden is individually designed around its setting, architecture and the people who will enjoy it.

Project Management

From concept through to completion, working alongside trusted local craftsmen and specialist contractors.

Restoration & Development

Helping mature gardens realise their potential through sensitive restoration and long-term planting.

Philosophy

I believe the best gardens evolve naturally, combining thoughtful structure with planting that matures beautifully over time. Every project begins by understanding the character of the site and the people who will call it their own.

“Gardens should never feel imposed upon a landscape.”

Creating gardens that grow with time.

More to come.

I'm currently adding a selection of recent projects, before and after transformations and insights into my design process.

If you'd like to discuss your own garden, I'd be delighted to hear from you.
